How to measure containers:

  • A=Major side wall
  • B=Bottom surface
  • C=Horizontal flange
  • D=Highest point

Top out. Upper drawing: All-crimped closable containers measured to inside of vertical flange. Lower drawing: All other containers measured to extreme outside dimension.

Bottom out. The distance between the intersection of the lowest part of the side walls (A) and the lowest bottom surface (B), measured from outside of container.

Slant depth. The distance between lowest bottom surface (B) and intersection of the major side wall (A) and horizontal flange (C).

Top in. The distance between intersection of top part of side walls (A) and horizontal flange (C) measured from inside of container.

Vertical depth to flange. The vertical distance from the lowest bottom surface (B) to the intersection of the major side wall (A) and the top of the wrinkle thickness of the horizontal flange (C).

Over-all vertical height. The vertical distance from the lowest bottom surface (B) to the highest point of container (D); except on interrupted vertical full curl, measure to top of curl.
